The What
The Events team aims to deliver comprehensive and high-quality services to its clients. The Event Administrator (Student Placement) provides a support service to the Event Director and wider team for administrative tasks and managing small event projects with supervision. The responsibility of this role includes administrating event planning, proposals, bookings, registrations and delegate management in accordance with company and client policies.
The position of Event Administrator (Student Placement) works within a one-year development plan. Here are just some of the things you’ll be getting involved with:
- Provide administrative support and assistance to the Events team and be responsible for all required administration tasks for Events being worked on.
- Answer departmental phone calls. Respond to general email enquiries, and file emails and action lists within client inboxes.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels of key resources for immediate use whenever needed.
- Regularly save and update relevant information to maintain the Events UK Supplier Library.
- Process invoicing tasks for the Events team and other general finance-related activities as required.
- Work under supervision to manage small Events, bookings, and projects.
- Help research, write, and design creative proposals to meet individual client specifications and win business.
- Develop knowledge and oversee components of basic Event delegate management within Event planning and delivery.
- Assist with delivering Events taking specific responsibility for elements of administrative and key resources and provide onsite Event support and assistance where required.
- Build positive supplier relationships to ensure TAG receives consistency, excellent communication, the best possible service, value for money, support, and attention to detail within a project.
- Produce and send accurate reports to clients and provide reporting internally as required.
- Anticipate colleague and client requirements to proactively analyse and supply information.
Other responsibilities of the job include:
- Use reminder tools to keep action lists updated to enable all duties to be approached proactively, promptly, efficiently, and effectively. Communicate outstanding tasks or workload issues to management.
- Liaise with TAG Event colleagues for Learning and development opportunities and brainstorming ideas. Suggest improvements and support new implementations at team, department, or company level.
- Support Event marketing activities and collaborate with other divisions and participate in TAG employee initiatives.
- Expand industry knowledge. Attend agreed and relevant trade shows, familiarisations, supplier presentations, networking receptions to maintain global knowledge of locations, venues, and vendors etc.
- Alert the Director of Events to any potential cross-divisional business development leads and referrals for other TAG divisions across all territories.
- Bring any issues to the immediate attention of relevant TAG Event team management. Escalate anything of significant concern straight to the Director of Events.
- Uphold TAG’s reputation for high service levels and represent TAG with full professionalism.
- Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

As an Event Administrator there are several credentials and attributes which would be advantageous, but a determined attitude and willingness to learn are equally important.
- Partial completion of relevant degree
- Combination of education and directly related experience
- Event or hospitality work experience – paid or voluntary
- Working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Client-facing or customer service experience
The Where and When
This will be a paid, one-year student placement role, working from our London Head Office based in Queens Park. There are other regional teams based in the US, Australia, New Zealand, and Singapore that you may work closely with too.
