About the Role

The key responsibilities of this position will be to develop, implement, and evaluate educational programs for Pre-Vocational Doctors, Year 1 (Interns) at St Vincent’s Hospital Melbourne, as guided by the Post Graduate Medical Council Victoria (PMCV) requirements for Internship in Victoria, and the National Framework for Pre-Vocational Medical Training (NFPMT).
It is expected that the Medical Education Officer, along with other members of the Medical Education Team, will communicate frequently with Senior Medical Staff and other stakeholders at SVHM, with relation to the supervision and education of these Pre-Vocational medical staff. The Medical Education Officer role also includes the provision of ongoing pastoral care and support of a non-educational nature for Junior Medical Staff at SVHM. This will be conducted in collaboration with other team members and key stakeholders/services across the organisation and state, as required.
All members of the Medical Education Team, including the Medical Education Officer, will be responsible for supporting and promoting educational and clinical training opportunities for Pre-Vocational doctors that are aligned with national and state accreditation standards, and the NFPMT.
Classification for this position will be RN35 ($119,329 per annum pro rata)
