Connecting and Protecting People, Microwave Products Group (MPG) is a leading global provider of mission-critical engineered electronic components and subsystems comprised of four business units in five manufacturing locations. Our brand names are recognized globally including: BSC Filters, York, UK; Dow-Key Microwave, Ventura, CA; K&L Microwave, Salisbury, Maryland and Dominican Republic; and Pole/Zero, West Chester, OH.

Our expertise is the design and manufacture of communications-based specialty products – engineered components and subsystems – for demanding military, space, commercial aerospace/industrial, and telecom infrastructure applications where function and reliability are crucial.

BSC FILTERS: WHO WE ARE

BSC specializes in the global design and manufacture of custom RF and Microwave Solutions. Utilizing core and advanced filter technologies as well as their integration in higher-level sub-assemblies for the latest RF and microwave products to connect and protect people in defence, communications, and aerospace.

We’re looking to welcome a new team member within our Production team into the role of PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN. You’ll work as part of our highly skilled, friendly, and customer-focused Production team to assemble and test our filters which protect and connect people around the world. This is a shift-based role working earlies and lates on alternate weeks.

You’ll do this by completing responsibilities to:

  1. Assemble and inspect precision parts to build filters using specification sheets, production and engineering drawings, and following work instructions to complete assigned tasks for each filter process within required timeframes.
  2. Make precision adjustments and modifications using microscopes, scalpels, and other small hand tools to manipulate tuning screens, filing, grinding, deburring, and cutting to meet amplitude and frequency ranges.
  3. Record and take data from analyzers and other equipment to enable test equipment to be calibrated.
  4. Fault find, highlight, and where able, resolve product issues and errors ensuring quality standards are maintained.

To be successful, you are or ideally have the following skills:

  1. Confident and organized, wanting to learn our processes, how they work, and what you’ll need to do to achieve the right standard.
  2. Patient and methodical in putting things together and when necessary, tinkering/adjusting them to get the right result.
  3. Someone who enjoys problem-solving, finding faults, and suggesting solutions.
  4. Experience of working in an engineering or manufacturing environment, meaning you can work to exacting standards and design.
  5. High attention to detail, combined with a passion for tidiness in your work area!
  6. Enjoy making positive teamwork contributions to our highly motivated Production teams, delivering continuous improvement and meeting targets.

Previous experience in these responsibilities is advantageous, but we’re also interested in people keen to learn and who want to contribute to a growing company. Full training is provided.
