Job description

Nursery Practitioner / Childcare Early Years Educator who is passionate about providing the very best start in life for young children and supporting them in a nurturing and stimulating environment is required for a day nursery in New Cross, South East London.

NO PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED – FULL TRAINING PROVIDED

If you’ve worked in childcare, then great. But if not, the company will consider candidates with no formal qualifications, providing you have an interest in childcare as full training will be provided.

STARTING SALARY: £25,500 per annum

LOCATION: New Cross, South East London (SE14)

JOB TYPE: Full-Time, Permanent

WORKING HOURS: 40 Hours per Week, 5 Days per Week

DUTIES

  1. Contribute to a high standard of quality within the nursery, including practice, environment and resources to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage
  2. Ensure appropriate planning and assessment is accurately maintained for key children
  3. Undertake the role of key person as described in the policy
  4. Prepare and supervise activities
  5. Supervise and support children at all times
  6. Ensure that equality of access and opportunity is provided to all children, parents, staff and visitors
  7. Ensure that all children are kept safe
  8. Notify Designated Officer of any safeguarding concerns
  9. Maintain a positive attitude at all times with children, parents, colleagues and visitors
  10. Develop and maintain professional working relationships with colleagues, parents and carers
  11. Adhere to all health and safety policies and procedures and undertake a shared responsibility for cleanliness and health and safety throughout the nursery
  12. Work as part of a team to ensure the company’s values are maintained

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

  1. No formal qualifications required as full training provided
  2. Must have an interest in childcare
  3. Possess a genuine passion for supporting the learning and development of young children
  4. Be able to work effectively as part of a team and independently, using their own initiative
  5. Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  6. Be reliable, punctual, and committed to providing high-quality care
