Your local, family-run, independent garden centre, restaurant and shop.

Salary: Negotiable based on experience.

Are you a driven and experienced General Manager in horticulture or other retail with a hunger for a fresh and exciting challenge?

Haddenham Garden Centre is an independent family-owned business that was founded in 1978. We are a successful and profitable Garden Centre, Farm Shop, and Restaurant where a huge re-development in 2019 saw the retail space more than double, and the Coffee Shop expand into a 280 cover Restaurant.

Key aspects of the role:
  1. To lead and manage the complete Garden Centre, Farm Shop, and Restaurant operation, maximising profitable sales and growth whilst effectively leading the teams to create a high-quality customer-focused environment.
  2. To achieve exceptional results and elevate the business to new levels of success post re-development, surpassing targets with confidence.
  3. To lead by example, inspiring and energising the team while providing the guidance and training they need to meet their potential.
  4. To set, monitor, and maintain excellent customer service and retail standards throughout the Garden Centre, Farm Shop, and Restaurant.
  5. To ensure the Garden Centre and Restaurant exceed the standards set out by the Garden Centre Association (GCA) and that there is year-on-year improvement in the GCA inspection score.
Requirements for this role:
  1. A strong management background in a successful Garden Centre environment. We’re also open to speaking to candidates from other retail environments as well.
  2. High energy levels, communication, and people management will come naturally to you.
  3. You must be motivated and passionate, eager to take ownership while preserving the businesses’ established high standards.
