Salary Scale: £31,650 to £49,084 per annum

GSL Education are actively seeking an SEN English Teacher for a placement at a school in Eastleigh. The school is dedicated to creating a nurturing space where students with special needs can thrive.

As a SEN English Teacher, your responsibilities will include:

• Planning and executing engaging and creative lessons for secondary students, tailored to diverse learning needs.
• Demonstrating positive behaviour and serving as a role model for students, effectively managing challenging behaviours when they arise.
• Offering one-to-one or small group support for students with special needs, facilitating their access to the curriculum.
• Conducting small group interventions to reinforce learning goals effectively.
• Assisting in maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere and managing behaviours.
• Employing strategies for equitable access to education for students with additional needs.

Requirements for the SEN English Teacher role:

• Proven experience working with students with SEN.
• Possess a recognised teaching qualification in the UK or have relevant experience.
• Experience teaching English.
• Energetic and patient with strong classroom management skills.
• Hold the right to work in the UK.
• A full checkable work history.

• Have the right to work in the UK.
• Have an up-to-date CV with two relevant references from within the last 2 years.
• Have a DBS registered to the update service or be happy to apply for one with GSL Education.
