Daphne Jackson Fellowships offer researchers the opportunity to return to a research career - after a break of two or more years for a family, health or caring reason. By combining a personalised retraining programme with a challenging research project, held in a supportive UK university or research establishment, our Fellowships provide a vital opportunity for those looking to return to a research career.
Fellowships are flexible and part-time, usually completed over two or three years at 0.5 FTE. They consist of a challenging research project and at least 100 hours of retraining per year.
Please note you must have had a career break for two years or more for family, caring or health reasons to be eligible for a Fellowship.
UK Health Security Agency and King's College London
Applications are invited for a three year part-time (0.5 FTE) Daphne Jackson Fellowship at the UK Health Security Agency and King’s College London. The fellowship is intended for individuals returning to research aligned with the fields of radiation protection, medical physics and biological effects of radiation in the wider context of nuclear medicine, radio-theranostics and molecular radiotherapy.
Based at the KCL School of Biomedical Engineering & Imaging Sciences Rayne Institute, St. Thomas’ Hospital London, there will be occasional work likely done at Nuclear Medicine department, Guy’s Hospital London. Some preparatory work is likely to involve aspects such as supporting ethics approval, preparation of documents and analysis of results which may be potentially suitable for working-from-home, but key aspects of the project involve lab based work on the premises.
