About usLungs for Living, led by Professor Sam Janes, is situated within UCL Respiratory, a department within the Division of Medicine at UCL. UCL Respiratory has a comprehensive laboratory suite, including two tissue culture facilities for cell lines and the processing and culturing of primary tissue samples. The recently refurbished department also includes a comprehensive histology facility and microscope suite. Lungs for Living has unique access to a rare cohort of preinvasive patient biopsies that can be utilized for in-depth multi-omic analysis, histologic analysis, and in vitro primary cell maintenance.
About the roleThe post holder will work as a Clinical Research Fellow based within the Lungs for Living Research Centre at UCL Respiratory in a team run by Professor Sam Janes. The post holder will be part of a team investigating the early diagnosis of Lung Cancer, helping with bronchoscopic trials and other studies. The role may include outpatient clinic work (Lung Cancer clinics), attendance at bronchoscopy lists, participating in departmental governance and training meetings, as well as protected time to develop your own research project. The post holder will be expected to register for a PhD at University College London. This post is available for 2.5 years.
About youThe candidate must be committed to a research vision and will be expected to assist in either clinical or translational research projects. The post will suit candidates wishing to develop subspecialty skills in Lung Cancer management and research.
