This is not just another job. It’s an opportunity to make a lasting impact on London’s policing and security operations. By joining, you’ll be part of a team that is passionate about delivering trusted technology and precise, data-driven policing. The Met offers great benefits, a supportive working environment, and ample opportunities for career growth in a dynamic and continuously evolving sector.

What we can offer:

  • Hybrid working arrangements for a healthy work-life balance
  • 28 days annual leave (excluding public holidays), rising to 33 days after 5 years continuous service

  • To promote physical well-being you will have full access to subsidised sports centre membership to over 3,000 UK gyms and 80 London Fitness Centres. There is also an excellent range of sporting activities on offer through the various Met Police Sports and Social Clubs.

What will you be doing?

Working within the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) department, you’ll be part of the Information Assurance Unit (IAU). You’ll be responsible for overseeing information assurance and accreditation assessments for systems operating within the OFFICIAL tier of the Government Security Classification Policy. This role is not just about compliance; it’s about embedding security at the heart of everything we do. You'll maintain a rigorous assurance framework and lead the charge on risk mitigation strategies, ensuring the Met’s information security posture is solid and reliable. Your expertise will guide key stakeholders throughout their projects, from embedding security requirements from the outset to conducting risk assessments and delivering practical solutions.

In this role, your leadership will be crucial. You’ll act as the escalation point for risks and mitigation plans, working closely with senior stakeholders to navigate critical security incidents and ongoing compliance efforts. You will also ensure the smooth integration of security processes within new IT systems, as part of the Met’s procurement processes.
