Senior Information Assurance Manager
Salary: The starting salary is £60,893, which includes allowances totalling £2,928.
The salary is broken down as £57,965 basic salary, which will increase annually until you reach the top of the scale - £63,230. Plus, a location allowance of £1,928 and a non-pensionable allowance of £1,000.
Location / Hybrid Working:
This role can be based in either Sidcup, Hendon or Bow but there may be a need for you to attend offsite meetings as required by the business. We actively support hybrid working solutions, with the expectation that you will have 2 days working at home.

What will you be doing?
Working within the Digital, Data and Technology (DDaT) department, you’ll be part of the Information Assurance Unit (IAU). You’ll be responsible for overseeing information assurance and accreditation assessments for systems operating within the OFFICIAL tier of the Government Security Classification Policy. This role is not just about compliance; it’s about embedding security at the heart of everything we do. You will be a trusted advisor, shaping policy, managing risk, and ensuring that information security is a priority across the Met.
You'll maintain a rigorous assurance framework and lead the charge on risk mitigation strategies, ensuring the Met’s information security posture is solid and reliable. Your expertise will guide key stakeholders throughout their projects, from embedding security requirements from the outset to conducting risk assessments and delivering practical solutions.
In this role, your leadership will be crucial. You’ll act as the escalation point for risks and mitigation plans, working closely with senior stakeholders to navigate critical security incidents and ongoing compliance efforts. You will also ensure the smooth integration of security processes within new IT systems, as part of the Met’s procurement processes.

Security Clearance:
Due to the secure nature of our work, successful candidates must pass all vetting and security requirements, which for this role means Vetting Clearance is Force Clearance Level, Recruitment Vetting (RV), and National Security Vetting (NSV) Level, Counter Terrorism Check (CTC).
