Accounts Assistant, Trainee Accountant, ACCA, CIMA, ATI

Our client is one of the leading providers of services to local industry. They are seeking to appoint an Assistant Management Accountant to join their high-performance finance team. The role is based in their head office in the Antrim area, on the outskirts of Belfast.

The Role:
  • Assist with various month-end close procedures
  • Company credit card reconciliation, posting all related invoices and payments
  • Post transactions and reconcile petty cash
  • Process employee expense claims
  • Intercompany account recharges
  • Statistical reporting to the Department of Finance and other key financial stakeholders
  • VAT and Intrastat calculations, returns and filings
  • Assisting to develop and enhance existing policies and procedures
  • Engage in business improvement initiatives and projects
  • Participating in the annual external audit
  • Providing support and cover within the accounts team as required, learning key Accounts Payable, Invoicing and Accounts Receivable processes and skills as part of a rounded Management Accounting training
  • Perform other ad-hoc duties as required by management
Skills and Experience:
  • Minimum of 1 year's experience within a busy accounts department
  • Commitment to achieving Accounting Technician and / or accounting qualification (AAT, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrable experience working and collaborating within a team
  • Good professional communication and strong attention to detail
  • Computer literacy with a good working knowledge of accounting packages and other relevant applications such as MS Excel
  • Ability to multitask, work to deadlines and prioritise workload
  • High self-motivation, drive and ambition to learn and develop within our business
