Location: Medway

Salary: Up to £45,000 (DOE)

Hours: 8am - 5pm. NO WEEKENDS

Our client is looking for a proactive and experienced Health & Safety Officer to lead and enhance their safety practices. You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring compliance, driving a strong safety culture, and supporting a collaborative work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Develop, implement and review all Health & Safety policies, procedures and risk assessments.
2. Maintain external accreditations and be point of contact for all external stakeholders.
3. Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify and mitigate risks.
4. Investigate any incidents, near misses and hazards, providing detailed reports and recommendations for improvements.
5. Proactively design and deliver health & safety training to employees and leadership team.
6. Keep up to date with legislation changes and ensure compliance across the organisation.
7. Collaborate with the leadership team and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
8. Manage the maintenance of health and safety records and documentation.
9. Acting as a hands-on leader, present on the production floor, assessing current processes and implementing new systems where necessary.

Qualifications/Experience:

1. Proven experience working in health and safety roles within a manufacturing company.
2. IOSH or NEBOSH certification.
3. Experience auditing and ISO management systems.
4. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence at all levels.
5. Self-motivated with strong organisational skills.
