Support Worker Learning Disabilities and Mental Health

Job Title: Support Worker Learning Disabilities and Mental Health

This is an Alternative Schooling Provision which caters for young adults aged 10-19 with various SEN including Mental Health, Complex Needs, and Autism.

Your role will involve supporting the class teacher, Support Staff, and multi-agency teams to devise learning and care plans and to encourage the child/young person to reach their full potential.

You will be required to set clear boundaries and manage triggers of challenging behaviour whilst supporting the child academically, emotionally, and socially.

Children at this school have multiple complex and sensory needs. Support workers looking to be trained as Teaching Assistants/Cover supervisors are encouraged to apply. Graduates looking to work with SEN are also encouraged to apply.

The ideal candidate:

  1. Experience working within an Education setting is not required; however, experience working with young people within a support setting is desired.
  2. Experience working with Challenging Behaviour within an Education, Residential, or Support Setting.
  3. Must have a Clear Enhanced DBS registered to the update service (we can provide you with details on how to start a new application).
  4. Will be able to provide a full career history and 2 referees.
