We are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and flexible Research Delivery Facilitator, to work with research active staff within the Trust, and the R& I research delivery and support teams, to identify and set up a variety of clinical research studies (commercial and non-commercial) and to ensure a varied and balanced portfolio of research projects within the Trust.
The primary base for this role is York Hospital, with a requirement to work at Scarborough Hospital when needed.
Reporting to the Head of Research Operations, working closely with our current Research Delivery Facilitator and Commercial Research Manager, and supported by the R& I Project Support Team, you will act as first point of contact for all new research studies within the Trust and play a key role in ensuring effective liaison and communication with a wide range of contacts, for example, university and industry sponsors, research networks, regulatory bodies, and research active clinical professionals. Such communication will involve information of a complex nature requiring a range of interpersonal skills.
Main duties of the job
The Research Delivery Facilitator will play a key role in supporting the research community in developing research activity and strategy. The post holder will manage the flow of new research projects coming into the Trust, providing confirmation of capacity and capability. The RDF will work closely with research active staff within the directorates of York and Scarborough Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to support all aspect of their research.
The post holder will play a key role in delivering the department's business targets.

Person SpecificationExperience and KnowledgeEssential- Significant relevant experience of clinical research acquired over a minimum of 2 years.
- Knowledge of research legislation and ethics, and Health Research Authority approval process.
Desirable- Knowledge of the research process and research methods applicable to clinical research in the NHS and University.
- Project management experience.
Qualifications and TrainingEssential- Educated to Degree Level or significant relevant experience of clinical research acquired over a minimum of 2 years.
- Excellent IT skills and data collection and management, Word Processing and Computer skills.
Skills and AbilitiesEssential- Experience with exercising sound judgement in relation to problem solving and identifying situations requiring further advice.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
- Demonstrable attention to details, self-discipline and motivation.
- Demonstrable professional manner, confident and diplomatic approach to work.
Desirable- Understand the challenges of undertaking research within the NHS and have experience of overcoming these barriers.
- Track record of working collaboratively across disciplines.
- Ability to practice delegation, negotiation and motivation skills.
