We are seeking an experienced and dynamic HR Manager to oversee and manage the human resources functions across our organization. This role will play a critical role in implementing HR strategies, policies, and practices that align with our company's mission, values, and growth objectives.

As the HR Manager, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our overall success by ensuring the effective management of our human capital.

Working Hours: Fully onsite (Mon -Fri) 10:30 AM – 7PM

Salary expectations: £30,000 - £35,000 Per Annum (Based on Experience)

Office Location: NW10 7FQ

Main activities and responsibilities

  1. Develop and implement HR strategies, policies, and initiatives to support the company's growth plans and ensure alignment with overall business objectives.
  2. Collaborate with senior management to identify and address HR-related challenges, anticipate future needs, and implement proactive solutions.
  3. Conduct regular reviews and assessments of HR programs to ensure their effectiveness and recommend improvements as necessary.
  4. Oversee the recruitment and selection process across all entities, including developing job descriptions, managing job postings, screening candidates, conducting interviews, and making hiring decisions.
  5. Partner with department heads to understand staffing needs and develop proactive recruitment strategies to attract top talent in the education industry.
  6. Build and maintain relationships with universities, educational institutions, and industry professionals to expand our talent network.
  7. Implement performance management processes and tools to ensure clear goal-setting, regular feedback, and performance evaluation.
  8. Support managers in identifying development needs and creating individualized development plans for employees.
  9. Facilitate training programs and workshops to enhance employee skills and capabilities in alignment with organizational goals.
  10. Collaborate with finance and senior management to develop and administer competitive compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain top talent.
  11. Ensure compliance with relevant employment laws and regulations regarding compensation, benefits, and working conditions.
  12. Promote a positive work environment by fostering effective communication, teamwork, and collaboration across all levels of the organization.
  13. Address employee concerns, grievances, and conflicts in a timely and fair manner, ensuring compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
  14. Develop and implement employee engagement initiatives, including recognition programs, team-building activities, and surveys to measure employee satisfaction.
  15. Oversee day-to-day HR operations, including managing employee records, payroll, benefits administration, and HRIS systems.
  16. Ensure compliance with all employment laws and regulations, maintaining up-to-date knowledge of HR-related legislation and industry best practices.
  17. Prepare and submit relevant reports to senior management on HR metrics, trends, and compliance.
  18. Adapt HR strategies and policies to meet local legal requirements and cultural differences.
  19. Manage international recruitment and relocation processes, including visa and work permit requirements.
  20. Ensure HR policies and practices are compliant with local laws and regulations in all relevant countries of operation.
  21. Understand global compensation structures, including regional salary benchmarks, allowances, and benefits.
  22. Design and implement competitive global compensation and benefits programs that attract and retain talent in different locations.

  • Proven experience in leading and managing a team of HR professionals.

International and Cross-Cultural Experience:

  • Familiarity with international education systems, particularly those relevant to recruiting and supporting international students.
  • Experience working with diverse teams and stakeholders from different cultural backgrounds.
  • Understanding of cultural nuances and the ability to adapt HR strategies and practices accordingly.

Data-Driven and Analytical Approach:

  • Proficiency in HR analytics and metrics to track and measure the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills to interpret data, identify trends, and make data-informed recommendations for HR strategies and improvements.

Technology and HR Systems:

  • Proficiency in HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) and other relevant HR software.
  • Experience in implementing and managing HR systems to streamline HR processes and enhance data management and reporting capabilities.

Strong Ethical Standards and Confidentiality:

  • High level of integrity and adherence to ethical standards in handling sensitive and confidential HR information.
  • Understanding and commitment to maintaining data privacy and confidentiality in accordance with relevant laws and regulations.

  • Ability to build relationships, influence stakeholders, and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong presentation skills to deliver engaging and informative HR-related presentations to diverse audiences.

Person Specification

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (e.g., Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field). A master's degree is a plus.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HR management, preferably within student recruitment, admissions, student placement services in the education industry or a related field in a similar market.
  • In-depth knowledge of HR best practices, employment laws, and regulations.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills, with the ability to interact effectively with students, parents, and educational institutions.
  • Demonstrated experience in talent acquisition, employee development, performance management, and employee relations.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and CRM systems.
  • Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required; proficiency in additional languages is a plus.

Able to demonstrate:

  • A high degree of self-motivation with the ability to work independently, take effective decisions, resolve unforeseen problems and adapt to changing circumstances.
  • Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing own workload and that of the team and planning ahead to meet deadlines.
  • An understanding of information governance and data protection.

Special requirements

Able to undertake duties at different premises. Flexibility to work outside of normal office hours to effectively support the company’s operations and events. Travel may be required in order to attend conferences, events, new projects and effectively represent the Company in key networks.
