Barker Munro Recruitment Ltd is delighted to be working with this dynamic and highly professional organisation to source a Claims Handler to expand their team. The opportunity offers something slightly different from the usual Kent-based Claims role. You will be handling a wide variety of claims within the Marine Trades sector, including Yacht, pleasure craft, Liability, Personal injury, and Property cases.

Candidates should have a strong claims handling background as you will manage your own caseload of approximately 120-140 claims per annum. You should be keen to take on new skills and collaborate with colleagues in other divisions of the business.

Key Responsibilities

1. Preparing and issuing FNOL’s and setting up all new claims on the account
2. Management and adjustment of outsourced claims under Delegated Authority
3. Assessing and maintaining claim indemnity and fee reserves accurately
4. Liaising with and appointing Experts and Lawyers as appropriate
5. Updating and submission of Monthly Claims Bordereaux
6. Preparing Quarterly MI Reporting for Clients
7. Liaising with underwriters, surveyors, brokers, lawyers, and other third parties on a daily basis
8. Excellent written skills are essential
9. Attending regular Client and broker meetings in London and regionally
10. Reporting to the Account Manager on complex claims and preparing coverage referrals

This small but very friendly team will offer first-class support and development to the successful candidate. Although a background in Marine Claims handling is an advantage, it is not essential. Flexible hybrid working is on offer, splitting your week between the office and home if you wish.
