The Opportunity

Working closely with industry-leading Partners, the Director will perform an advisory-focused, client-facing role. In addition to undertaking personal tax planning projects, they will oversee a team of experienced advisers, manage client relationships and play a role in developing new business.

Day to day duties

• Focusing on advisory - demonstrating the ability to fact find with clients, to deliver reports and ensure recommendations are included as well as step plans for implementation.
• Identify tax sensitive expenditure and wider tax issues
• Support the Tax Partners closely to deliver tax advisory services
• Manage the private client tax team by hearing the voice of your team members, conduct appraisals, provide coaching of assignments to support the development of team skills
• Establish strong working relationships with your own portfolio of clients through assignments and regular contact, including attending client meetings
• Monitor your own utilisation, productivity and WIP
• Confident providing guidance and feedback to others in the team

What are we looking for?

• CTA equivalent qualified, STEP qualified would be an advantage to take on IHT and CGT advisory work.
• Experience of dealing with HNW individuals, IHT and trusts and estates.
• Strong technical knowledge and the ability to carry out research into complex areas of tax legislation, particularly in respect of IHT and trusts.
• Ability to seek new business opportunities
