Astute is exclusively partnering with one of the leaders in industrial cleaning and shockwave solutions within the Power Generation sector to recruit a Trainee Field Technician/ Blasting Operative to join their growing team in Warrington.

The Trainee Field Technician role comes with a starting salary of £32,100 with an expected OTE of £40,000. This role will be based out of their hub in Warrington; however, it will require extensive travel and staying away throughout the UK 5-6 days a week.

Responsibilities and Duties

Reporting to the Operations Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

1. Joining a team of Blasting Operatives and Engineers working across the UK's power generation sector to provide key industrial cleaning and shockwave solutions within a number of Power Stations and Energy from Waste centres throughout the UK.
2. Using key cleaning technologies to improve the efficiency of power stations and process facilities through controlled detonative charges used in a power station boiler, to dislodge corrosive build-up on pipework.
3. Ensuring the safe and efficient transport and usage of explosives, working in a close team to deliver a timely and responsive cleaning service across the UK.
4. Being flexible with travel that can include weekends.

Professional Qualifications & Personal Attributes

We are looking for someone with the following:

1. Experience of working in a 'hands-on' position previously, ideally within a hazardous or industrial environment (desirable but not necessary).
2. A full clean UK driving licence is essential.
3. An understanding of mechanical maintenance, ideally with some form of qualifications.
4. A flexible approach to working and happy to stay away from home 5-6 days per week.
5. A pro-active and can-do attitude.
6. Willingness to travel across the UK.
