Job description

London Market Insurer is seeking a Business Data Lead that will partner with various teams across the organisation to identify data-related challenges and coach users on how to leverage the new capabilities. You will be instrumental in translating business needs into actionable data solutions, guiding users of varying data proficiency levels in how to harness modern analytics. In doing so, you will help foster a stronger data culture across the organisation. This role will also involve gathering requirements from the business and collaborating with Data teams to deliver solutions that meet these needs.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Collaborate with business units to understand their objectives and how data can support improved decision-making and operational efficiency.
2. Act as a liaison between business users and Data development teams, ensuring alignment on requirements and timelines.
3. Assess data maturity within different business areas and work with the Data leadership team to develop action plans addressing key findings.
4. Provide coaching and education to users across the business, ensuring they are equipped with the skills to access and utilise relevant data capabilities.
5. Empower business users with strong data skills to independently create and manage their reports.
6. Develop content to promote awareness of data initiatives and drive the broader enablement of data across the business.
7. Manage and prioritise Data-related requests, working closely with business users to identify and implement opportunities for data enablement.

Skills and Experience:

1. Extensive knowledge of the London Market Insurance sector, with a strong understanding of its processes, regulations, and operations.
2. Passionate about championing data-driven solutions, aligning initiatives with business objectives to drive growth and enhance decision-making.
3. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to deliver engaging presentations and training to diverse audiences, boosting data literacy across the organisation.
4. Advanced proficiency in data reporting tools like Power BI, and a solid grasp of data governance, databases, and emerging technologies such as AI and Data Science.
5. Proven track record of collaborating with stakeholders at all levels to manage expectations, build relationships, and ensure alignment on key deliverables.
6. Skilled in translating business requirements into actionable tasks for development teams, ensuring data solutions are tailored to business needs.
