Salary/Rate: £15.00 per hour

Platinum Recruitment is proud to partner with a well-established and vibrant nursery in Leicester, offering an exciting opportunity for a talented cook to join their team on an ongoing temporary basis. This role involves catering for approximately 50 children under 5 years old, ensuring they receive delicious and nutritious meals in a fun and engaging environment.

The ideal candidate will have experience as a chef or have a strong catering background within an education or nursery setting.

In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing fresh, nutritious meals suitable for young children, and ensuring the smooth operation of the lunch service. You'll be contributing to a happy and stimulating atmosphere for the children.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Preparing and serving nutritious and appealing meals for approximately 50 children under 5 years old.
2. Previous experience as a chef, ideally within a school or nursery setting.
3. Proven experience in high-volume, quality catering.
4. Ensuring full compliance with Food Safety and Health & Safety regulations.
5. Maintaining a positive and proactive attitude in a fast-paced, child-friendly kitchen environment.
6. Enhanced DBS certificate (required).
7. Planning menus that are varied, healthy, and suitable for young children, taking into account dietary requirements and allergies.
8. Creating a fun and positive mealtime experience for the children.
