IT AV Package Manager and Smart Automation Engineer - Contract London Urgent
Our client is a leading biopharmaceutical company unified in the purpose of using the power of leading-edge science to save and improve lives around the world.
They are developing their detailed design of Belgrove House; a 25,000m2 London Discovery Research Centre comprising specialised life science laboratories and UK Headquarter office space to accommodate 800 employees with publicly accessible auditoriums, exhibition and education spaces to inspire public engagement and honour a commitment to give back.
Our client is seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Package Manager to oversee the coordination, planning and delivery of IT, Audio-Visual (AV) and Smart automation systems in their London Discovery Research Centre. The ideal candidate will ensure that all hardware, software and systems are integrated seamlessly, meet performance expectations and adhere to timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Management:
- Manage end-to-end delivery of IT, AV, and automation systems across projects, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.
- Coordinate with stakeholders, including design teams, clients, contractors, and vendors, to define system requirements and project scope.
- Oversee installation, testing, and commissioning of IT/AV systems and automation solutions.
Package Management:
- Develop comprehensive package plans for IT, AV, and automation systems, detailing hardware, software, and infrastructure requirements.
- Ensure seamless integration between different systems and technologies, troubleshooting compatibility issues.
- Track project milestones and report on progress to stakeholders regularly.
Technical Coordination:
- Collaborate with IT and AV engineers to design system architectures that align with project objectives.
- Evaluate and select hardware, software, and automation solutions based on project needs and cost-effectiveness.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, best practices, and safety regulations.
Vendor and Resource Management:
- Engage with suppliers and vendors to procure necessary equipment and materials.
- Negotiate contracts and manage relationships to ensure timely delivery and support.
- Manage team resources effectively, delegating tasks and ensuring proper training.
Documentation and Reporting:
- Prepare detailed documentation, including technical designs, user manuals, and operational procedures.
- Generate status reports, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies to keep all stakeholders informed.
Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Min. 8 years of experience in IT, AV systems, or automation project management.
- Experience with smart home technology, building automation systems, or enterprise AV solutions is a plus.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong understanding of IT networks, AV systems, and automation technologies.
- Proficiency in project management tools and methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall, MS Project).
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking skills with attention to detail.
- Excellent communication skills for collaborating with diverse teams and stakeholders.
Certifications (Preferred):
- PMP (Project Management Professional).
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) for AV professionals.
