Job Title: Cyber Incident Management Associate

Department: Cyber Incident Management

Employment Type: Permanent - Full Time

Location: London

Reporting To: Joe Scully

Description

With cyber policyholders in over 65 countries around the world, we have the largest specialist team of cyber underwriters in the London market and the second largest portfolio by gross written premium. In order to remain at the front of this exciting market, it is critical that we continue to innovate with our products and service offerings.

As a result, we are looking to recruit a Cyber Incident Management Associate to join the incident response and cyber claims teams. The role will support the team in their day-to-day duties to deliver a market leading cyber incident response service. You will learn to provide urgent support to insured clients with cyber incidents, advising on the best course of action and performing some initial analysis where appropriate. You will also build positive working relationships with our network of incident response, forensic, legal, and PR vendors to provide insured clients with a high-quality and cost-effective service. In addition to this ‘front line’ support, you will work with the incident response, claims, products, and underwriting teams to support improvements to the service and products CFC offers.

This role is ideal for someone with a passion for cyber who is looking for an entry-level role where they can learn and develop their own skillset to become a specialist within the cyber incident response field.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high quality and efficient support and advice to insured clients with cyber incidents.
  • Perform preliminary analysis and triage for incidents and help to develop CFC’s technical in-house capabilities.
  • Work collaboratively across the Cyber Security function to support forensic investigations by producing threat intelligence such as threat assessments, vulnerability scanning, and open-source interrogation as required.
  • Foster good relationships with policyholders, brokers, underwriters, and capacity providers, and drive excellent customer service.
  • Support the cyber incident response and cyber claims function with ad-hoc and administrative tasks as required.
  • Work with the cyber claims adjusters to efficiently and fairly review incident claims and coverage.
  • Work with the incident response, underwriting, and products team along with external vendors to develop and deliver a variety of risk management services, tools, and products.

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Able to deal with external customers and brokers in high-stress situations.
  • Capable of managing a variety of stakeholders associated with cyber incidents and presenting complex technical information to both technical and non-technical entities.
  • Excellent communication skills and capable of learning how to credibly speak to clients and partners regarding cyber incidents and the value CFC’s products and services provide in responding to them.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a high standard of written and verbal English.
  • Understanding of the cyber threat landscape, reviewing intelligence sources, and applying to support incident response.
  • A demonstrable interest in cyber/cyber security, with an overall good understanding of the cyber threat intelligence landscape both in the UK and internationally.
  • Previous experience or relevant education related to cyber security would be helpful; however, not essential.
  • General knowledge of the insurance industry (preferred).
  • Honours Degree, preferably with a focus on a technical area (computer engineering, computer science, information security, etc.) or relevant work experience.
  • Industry certifications in cyber security and/or incident response (e.g. CompTIA+, GCIH, ISC2, or CREST incident response qualifications) helpful; however, not essential.
