Gaelic Playgroup Supervisor - fixed term until 26th June 2026

Salary: £25,322.00 - £27,727.00 (Pro rata for part time and sessional)
Hours: 7 per week, 38 weeks sessional

We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic Gaelic speakers to join our team of Cròileagan Playgroup Leaders. This service is central to our vision to see Gaelic language and culture thrive in Edinburgh by providing the very best pathways into Gaelic Medium Education (GME) for our youngest learners. You will join our well-established Cròileagan Team and work in close cooperation with our Early Years and Partner Provider colleagues. This role involves supporting families to start their GME journey by engaging them with Gaelic language and culture through play and activity sessions at various locations in Edinburgh.

Applications are invited from strong, confident Gaelic speakers with experience of/interest in working with children age 0-3 and their parents and carers. A team player, you should have very strong communication skills and be confident in your ability to plan and lead play and activities and support parents and children to develop their Gaelic language skills.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
