The Veolia Nuclear Solutions Group is the flagship nuclear business within Veolia and the UK arm (VNS-UK) is one of the major arms of the Group. It has gone through a phase of rapid growth (2015 to 2020) laying the foundations for an enhanced and much-changed entity. This was then consolidated in 2021 with more controlled- and profitable growth. It has recently completed a major review of the way forward, culminating in a Long-Term Plan which confirms the Vision of the UK business to Work collaboratively to produce world class technical solutions that support a cleaner and safer planet.
The plan has identified the potential for a further growth period based on a mix of organic growth (with regards its Remote Handling Systems work), a significant re-enforcement of Technology development (including R&D) and the formation of a new Waste Management capability. This capability is founded on 3 years of investment; developing a market opportunity and client-relations; placing our patented GeoMeltTM technology as the cornerstone of our strategy.
The business is readying itself to deliver a Long Term Plan (a turnover of £40-60m by 2027) which involves a positive restructuring to provide the leadership, focus and energy needed whilst being supported by a strong back-office team, a Central Engineering Services Group (CES) and a Technology and Concept Studies Group (TACS).
As part of what will be a business defining restructure, one of the most critical positions is that of the Sales Director who will lead the development of strategic planning, partnerships, marketing and business acquisition as it is reshaped and re-enforced to meet the clear objectives of the LTP. This will be in parallel to working with the MD to provide the energy and leadership as the reshaped business takes shape and pushes on with the LTP. It is therefore a critical position and appointment.
