Job description

We are looking for an Engineering and Design Manager to join our infrastructure team in Manchester to implement and deliver the Engineering and Design Management activities for the CP7 Network Rail project.

What you'll do:

  • Implement the Engineering and Design Management Plans, tools and processes to manage the engineering and design on a project or packages within a project.
  • Support the project CEM in fulfilling engineering management plan duties.
  • Monitor design maturity and support commercial team strategies, submissions and design sub-contracts.
  • Prepare technical reports for internal and external project period reporting.
  • Responsible for monitoring the design programmes with the overall project schedule, collaborating with Planning teams.
  • Ensure construction input to design for constructable solutions.
  • Lead and support the identification, evaluation, and implementation of design efficiencies for both cost and carbon.

What you'll bring to the role:

  • Experience of the delivery and assurance of design, construction and hand back of works in accordance with Network Rail or similar Rail sector standards on similar scale or complexity of projects.
  • Experience of developing Engineering Management procedures and systems.
  • An understanding of digital systems and field tools.
  • Working toward professional qualifications.
