Role

Glasgow Women’s Aid provides information, support and temporary accommodation for women, children and young people experiencing domestic abuse. We have refuge accommodation, follow on services and outreach services both for women and children across Glasgow.

The purpose of this role is to provide therapeutic support to women who are experiencing or have experienced domestic abuse. You will support women in their own community on a 1-1 and group work basis. You will provide practical and emotional support through support planning and will advocate for women to ensure their voices are heard and that they are getting the support they need. An important part of this role will be the development and delivery of innovative and creative group work.

It is essential that you have experience of providing support to women who have experienced gender-based violence. A suitable qualification such as HNC Social Services or SVQ Level 3 Social Services and Healthcare is essential. The nature of our work requires a commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid. Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you have a driving license and access to a car.

Are you passionate about children and children’s rights? Do you enjoy working with children and do you have experience of working with children who have experienced trauma? We are looking for a CYP Outreach and Prevention Worker to join our team and provide vital support to children dealing with the trauma of domestic abuse. Our service is delivered to school age children, predominantly in a school environment. You will provide therapeutic 1-1 and focused group work to children and young people ensuring the service is driven by them and their needs. You will also deliver our unique prevention programme to schools across Glasgow to educate children and young people about domestic abuse in an age appropriate way.

It is essential that you have experience of supporting children and young people who have experienced gender based violence. A qualification relevant to working with children and young people, such as SVQ Level 3 Social Service (Children and Young People) is also required. The nature of our work requires a commitment to the feminist analysis of domestic abuse and to the values of Glasgow Women’s Aid. This will involve providing innovative and creative 1-1 and group work support. You will provide person-centred support to women as they move through their journey and will advocate to make sure that women’s voices are heard and their needs are met.

It is essential that you have experience of providing support to women who have experienced gender-based violence. A suitable qualification that meets with SSSC Housing Support registration is also required (examples would be HNC Social Services or SVQ Level 3 Social Services and Healthcare). Due to the nature of the role it is essential that you have a driving license and access to a car.

As Business Support Manager you will have responsibility for HR, Training and Development, Communications and Admin across the organisation. This role is very varied however due to the need for specialist HR support, it is essential that you are CIPD qualified and can demonstrate extensive knowledge and experience of employment law and good practice in all areas of HR. We have approximately 60 workers and you will be the HR expert for the organisation providing support, guidance and advice to all levels of the organisation, from workers to Board Members. It is also essential that you have experience of managing different shared services functions across an organisation.

Fife Women’s Aid are looking to recruit a full-time and a part-time member of staff to provide advice, advocacy, support and services to children, young people and families who have experienced domestic abuse. Applicants should have experience of providing support in a relevant social care setting.

The successful applicants will have at least SVQ Level III or equivalent level of qualification in childcare or other relevant subject, or equivalent experience and willingness to work towards a qualification. The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a high degree of motivation and have the ability to work as part of a team as well as flexible hours to suit the needs of families. An ability to cover on-call is an advantage (additional payments are made for this role).
