We are recruiting for a Duty Officer at Mearns Sports Centre.

A typical day in the office will see you oversee the daily operations to ensure a smooth and safe environment for visitors. Manage staff, assign duties, and provide training, ensuring employees adhere to policies and procedures.

You will be required to handle customer inquiries and complaints, striving to enhance customer satisfaction. Monitor the facility cleanliness, maintenance, and equipment functionality, coordinating repairs and upkeep as needed.

You may participate in budgeting, cost control, and inventory management to achieve financial goals. Moreover, you will focus on staff development, offering guidance, performance evaluations, and opportunities for growth.

Ultimately, a Duty Officer's aim is to create a positive experience for customers while maintaining a well-functioning & organised establishment.

Requirements

Organise and supervise all employees working within the facility according to policy, ensuring a safe and enjoyable service to the public using this facility.

This role may require flexible, evening and weekend working.

There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.

Responsibilities

This post is regulated work with Children and/or Protected Adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
