Job description

Job Title: Primary Teacher

Location: Durham

Contract: Long term temporary

Leader Education are recruiting a Primary Teacher for an SEND school based in Durham.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with students with SEND and/or PMLD. This school caters for young people aged between 2-19 with a diverse range of special educational needs and is renowned for its warm, inclusive atmosphere that empowers students to thrive.

Working Pattern: Monday-Friday 8:30 until 16:30

The successful candidate will have:

  • Qualified teacher status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualifications.
  • A current DBS that is on the update system, or a willingness to obtain one.
  • Previous experience as a Primary teacher.
  • Ability to effectively deliver the curriculum, offering support, advice and guidance to pupils.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to work effectively with pupils, colleagues, parents and other professionals.
  • Adaptability and initiative to accommodate various learning types and abilities, striving towards social and academic development.
  • High expectations and aspirations for young people and themselves.
