Position: Design & Technology Technician
Location: The Prescot School
Start Date: 05/05/2025
Salary: Competitive and based on experience

Are you passionate about making, creating, and problem-solving? Do you thrive in a practical environment where no two days are the same? We're looking for a DT Technician with a hands-on attitude, creative flair, and a passion for helping students turn ideas into reality.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Preparing, maintaining and organising tools, machinery, and materials for practical lessons
  2. Supporting teachers and students during hands-on projects and workshops
  3. Ensuring health and safety standards are followed at all times
  4. Helping to design and produce resources, displays, and prototypes
  5. Playing a vital part in the smooth running of the DT department

What We're Looking For:
  1. Practical experience working with tools, machinery, and materials (wood, metal, plastics, etc.)
  2. A keen eye for detail and strong organisational skills
  3. Enthusiasm for supporting young people in a creative, technical environment
  4. Awareness of health and safety in workshop settings (training can be provided)
  5. A team player with a can-do attitude and a problem-solving mindset
  6. Experience in a school or workshop setting is desirable but not essential

Bonus If You Have:
  1. Familiarity with CAD/CAM (e.g., laser cutters, 3D printers, etc.)
  2. An interest in design, engineering, or education
  3. Relevant technical qualifications or training
