Drainage Engineer
Southampton
Permanent
£30,000 - £32,000 + vehicle + OT + commission + benefits

The Client
Our client is a market-leading national provider of emergency and planned drainage and plumbing services through a franchised network of over 30 branches, part of a wider premium services group focused on repairing, maintaining and enhancing customers’ homes and businesses.

The Role
They currently have a permanent requirement for a Drainage Engineer in the Southampton / Hampshire region responsible for attending domestic and commercial sites and investigating wastewater works, instigating and resolving issues for our customers, along with making appropriate recommendations.

  1. Liaising with commercial and domestic customers on site.
  2. Customer service – engaging with customers in a professional manner.
  3. Investigating and diagnosing issues via site surveys.
  4. Advising customers as to solutions and implementing accordingly, including drain clearances, de-scaling, root cutting, performing minor excavations, patch lining, and preventative maintenance.
  5. Use of high-pressure water jetters, CCTV camera survey equipment, and rods.
  6. Identifying potential concerns and making recommendations to customers for additional work.
  7. Interpret and work with drainage drawings, operating independently in areas of expertise.
  8. Review and adhere to project-specific risk assessment and method statements (RAMS) before commencing work.
  9. Identify and mitigate risks, ensuring strict compliance with health and safety regulations.
  10. Driving brand awareness through professional appearance, interactions, and technical knowledge.
  11. Sharing knowledge and best practice with colleagues.
  12. Making recommendations to the Regional Development Managers to the success of the region.

The Rewards

The company is willing to pay a competitive starting salary of £30,000 - £32,000 plus a fully equipped and expensed company vehicle, enhanced overtime rates, commission structure, and strong benefits package.
