Position: Deputy Manager of Domiciliary Care

Reports to: Domiciliary Care Manager

Starting salary: £30,500

Working Hours: Monday - Friday Rota pattern, 35 hours a week

P4 Recruitment is working with a provider across the Lancashire, North West region that supports adults with specialist supported living and residential services for people with severe learning disabilities and complex needs. They have an excellent reputation and are growing their service, which is the reason for the new Deputy Care role.

POSITION OVERVIEW

The primary function of this role is to assist the domiciliary care manager in overseeing the management of the company's multi-site tenancies on a daily basis. This position requires regular travel between the various tenancies operated by the company.

The Deputy Manager will be responsible for leading and collaborating with the care staff team to deliver high-quality care and support to adult residents with significant learning disabilities and/or physical impairments.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED

Experience:

  1. A minimum of 18 months of relevant supervisory or managerial experience in the care sector is essential for the managerial and healthcare components of this role.
  2. Proven experience in working with individuals who have severe learning disabilities and related physical disabilities.
  3. Familiarity with person-centred care approaches.
  4. Knowledge of care regulations, including CQC standards and safeguarding protocols.
  5. Strong teamwork capabilities.
  6. Proficient IT skills.

Qualifications and Skills:

  1. A QCF Level 5 qualification or its equivalent is mandatory.
  2. A valid driving license, personal vehicle, and business insurance are required.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Support the management of staff teams in providing daily assistance to service users, engaging in care activities as necessary.
  2. Aid the domiciliary care manager with general care and healthcare administration tasks, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of service needs and issues.

Responsibilities include:

  1. Planning staff rotas
  2. Coordinating coverage for staff leave and absences
  3. Maintaining individual care plans
  4. Updating individual health action plans
  5. Conducting risk assessments
  6. Providing on-call support for telephone advice and emergency situations
  7. Addressing complaints in accordance with established policies and procedures
  8. Supporting the domiciliary care manager in various tasks.
