Job summary

To ensure that premises managed by QE Facilities Ltd are presented in such a manner as to promote an image of high standards of cleanliness, order, and patient/client well-being. Specifically, those areas within the job holder's responsibility are clean; maintenance needs are noted and reported; and that support is provided to ensure that patient and staff environments are maintained at an optimal level to enhance the patient experience.

Main duties of the job

• Complete daily, weekly, and regular cleaning to include cleaning of all floor surfaces, paintwork, internal glass, fixtures, and fittings as defined by QE Facilities Policy, Procedures, and Service Level Agreements within the designated area(s).
• Organise and remove waste materials from designated areas complying with defined waste procedures for both domestic and clinical waste.
• Carry out sanitary cleaning in all wet areas to include toilets, basins, baths, and shower cubicles.
• Maintain and replenish cleaning materials to all designated areas to include linen in selected locations.
• Respond to requests for remedial cleaning after incidents/accidents in a timely fashion.
• Report building defects to ensure remedial action is taken.
• Prepare patient area for service of patient meals.
• Collect cutlery and crockery following patient meal service, wash all items, and store at ward level.
• Prepare and serve patient beverages under the guidance of nursing staff.
• Linen change in on-call rooms and residential accommodation; curtain change in all clinical areas.

Job responsibilities

• Ensure delivery of cleaning materials and disposable items match delivery note; sign to record delivery.

Person Specification

Knowledge

Essential:

• Patient and client interactions which portray a professional, supportive, and caring service.
• Constructive team working and participation including multi-disciplinary team relationships.
• Personal organisation and time management with strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and use initiative while being part of a team.

Desirable:

• Knowledge of the application of all regulatory and legislative requirements required to ensure a Healthy & Safe environment including: Infection Prevention and Control; Safe Working; Lone Working; COSHH; Food Safety and Manual Handling; Patient and Customer Care.
• Cleaning procedures and protocols.

Experience

Desirable:

• Experience working in a domestic role/in a healthcare setting.

Qualifications

Essential:

• Willingness to undertake job-related training.

Desirable:

• NVQ or similar qualification.
