DK UK Sales - Key Account Manager

Penguin Random House
London
GBP 30,000 - 60,000
Job description

We're looking for an experienced sales professional who thrives in a fast-paced, ever-evolving environment to join our UK Sales team as Key Account Manager. Working to deliver profitable sales growth for DK, Canelo and Sourcebooks across a variety of customers, you’ll be someone who can turn a "maybe" into a "yes!" with a strategic approach.

You'll be the face (and voice!) of our brand, connecting with customers, understanding their needs, and providing solutions. Not only will you provide exceptional customer service, but you'll also actively think creatively about sales strategy, identifying opportunities and building genuine relationships.

Here's What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Tackling customer queries with enthusiasm and finding creative solutions
  2. Driving both revenue and volume with key retailers
  3. Adapting your communication style to fit each unique customer
  4. Preparing and curating presentations according to customer needs, and presenting customers with a clear positioning of each book, series or brand and demonstrating in-depth product and market knowledge
  5. Demonstrating unwavering perseverance, turning potential roadblocks into opportunities
  6. Being flexible and adaptable, ready to shift gears and handle anything that comes your way, whilst maintaining an excellent standard of customer service and attention to detail
  7. Achieving agreed sales targets for specific customers within the dedicated channel
  8. Implementing customer focussed sales plans to maximise the sales of our books through the dedicated customers
  9. Working with the marketing team on customer plans and ensure full use of internal resources to support sell-in and sell-through
  10. Ensure all orders are processed smoothly, ensuring books are delivered according to customer specifications

Our ideal candidate is a strong negotiator and communicator. You will have a good head for numbers, as well as the ability to analyse and communicate sales data. We are looking for someone with a ‘can-do’ attitude, who sees challenges as opportunities to learn and grow.

If this sounds like you, please apply with your most recent CV and cover letter by 4th April.

We have a range of benefits to reflect our commitment to our people, some of which are:

  1. 25 days paid holiday entitlement in year one, plus bank holidays
  2. Volunteering policy and charity matching
  3. Employee assistance programme
  4. 60% discount on company books
  5. Cycle to work scheme and discounted gym membership
  6. Flex Fridays (1pm Finish*)
  7. Up to 30 days remote working from abroad

And we plant a tree for every new employee to our business.

DK is committed to building a diverse workforce that reflects the varied communities that read our books across the world. We encourage applications from all individuals, regardless of age, religion, gender, ethnicity, disability, sexuality or social background.

DK is a member of the disability confident scheme. We guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the minimum criteria for the vacancy/ies.

DK supports flexible working and has introduced a new ‘smart-working’ policy with a hybrid approach of working weekly from home and in DK’s office. Please note, this role requires a minimum of three days a week in the office.
