We are working with a substantial food manufacturer with an outstanding reputation for quality, sustainability, and customer service. The business has been established for more than 40 years and has positioned itself as one of the leaders in the chilled food sector, having transformed the supply chain, farmer confidence, operations, and customer commitments.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the CEO, the new role will have responsibility for the running and development of a multisite operation with complex high care processes and a significant leadership team. This role will lead the evolution of the sites, teams, processes, and culture to move from good to best in class, with the autonomy and Board support to devise and execute the strategy to achieve this ambitious objective. The business has a long-established B2B customer base, supplying some exacting retailers. This role will be responsible for further developing these relationships, both in the UK and internationally.

The Candidate

This role calls for an experienced individual from a fast-moving, own label, food manufacturing environment with a proven track record within General Management or previous Managing Director experience. Cultural fit is crucial, so candidates will need to demonstrate a strong leadership style that is hands-on, approachable, inspiring, open, and embracing of change. Suitable candidates will have an affinity for the agricultural sector and empathy for the commercial and sustainability challenges the whole supply chain is tackling. While this role is home-based, the sites are located across the UK and will require significant travel and presence on-site for effectiveness.
