Job description

We are currently recruiting an exciting new job opportunity within the South Division in Barchester Healthcare. The role of Divisional Head Housekeeper will be fundamental in supporting the Divisional Hospitality Manager, ensuring that the division meets its housekeeping and laundry standards and complies with all relevant legislation. You will support recruitment, training and work with Housekeeping Teams across the division to ensure all hospitality standards are met and that the hospitality service is commercially efficient.

Role and responsibilities (Summarised):

  1. Ensuring all regulations and legislation are followed by all housekeeping staff across your division
  2. Supporting the delivery of all Operational Standards for housekeeping
  3. Identifying and driving improvements in all aspects of housekeeping and laundry system
  4. Support Divisional Hospitality Managers and Operations to implement and improve services
  5. Supporting the building and development of highly skilled housekeeping teams

Required experience and qualifications:

  1. Background in housekeeping and laundry management across an area, ideally including multiple sites.
  2. Experience in a customer service environment
  3. Experience of managing a team and ability to work in a team and own initiative
  4. Knowledge of COSHH
  5. A hospitality leader qualification (advantageous)
  6. Knowledge of budgeting and control of purchasing
  7. Aware of health and safety legislation
