Commercial Director

£70k - £90k DOE

Hybrid working available

England

Our well-established client working within the logistics industry are looking to onboard a reliable and experienced Commercial Director to join their already flourishing team!

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement commercial strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives to drive growth and profitability.
  • Contribute to the business's medium and long-term strategy to ensure organizational goals are achieved.
  • Collaborate with the Operations Director to address margin erosion and create actionable steps to improve and mitigate future risks.
  • Monitor the performance of commercial activities and report key sales metrics to the Branch Directors.
  • Foster a healthy commercial environment within the branch and work with various teams (marketing, operations, sales support, finance, HR, etc.) as needed.
  • Oversee team performance to ensure compliance with policies, procedures, service standards, and to drive business growth.
  • Identify training and development needs for the team and ensure necessary training is provided.
  • Conduct one-on-one reviews with employees at least quarterly.

Requirements:

  • Senior commercial experience, capable of establishing credibility and supporting the company's growth and accountability.
  • Extensive knowledge and experience in the freight forwarding industry.
  • Strong commercial insight, collaborating with the business to implement commercially focused strategies.
  • Project management abilities, ensuring company targets and deadlines are met.
  • Resilience and a positive attitude, especially in difficult situations.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient negotiation skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships both over the phone and in person with a wide range of individuals.
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment and is a strong team player.
  • Self-motivated.
