Job Title: Transport Supervisor
Location: Heston
Job Type: Full-time, office based

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Transport Supervisor to oversee the efficient operation of our transport department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for assisting in the management of a fleet of approximately 24 vehicles, ensuring compliance with all regulatory and safety requirements, and supporting the team to deliver excellent transport services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assist with the management of fleet maintenance for approximately 24 vehicles in line with operator licence obligations.
  2. Supervise the activities of staff in relation to transport operations, including dispatching, tracking, and debriefing.
  3. Ensure that staff comply with company policies, safety regulations, and government legislation.
  4. Support the coaching, training, and performance management of drivers to maintain high operational standards.
  5. Contribute to the planning, development, and organisation of the transport department.
  6. Liaise with local agency providers when required.
  7. Ensure all vehicles and drivers adhere to relevant health, safety, and road traffic legislation.
  8. Oversee route planning and vehicle loading, working with the Transport Planning team to identify and implement improvements.
  9. Ensure OTIF (On Time In Full) targets are met and that all deliveries align with customer requirements.
  10. Support the development and communication of transport policies and procedures.

Skills & Experience:

  1. Previous experience in a logistics or transport environment.
  2. Strong knowledge of Digital Tachograph systems.
  3. Competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and stock management software.
  4. Previous experience with telematics systems is advantageous.
  5. Excellent leadership and influencing skills with the ability to supervise and support teams.
