Salary: Circa £14,894 per annum + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances, and well-being. Salary upon finishing the Apprentice programme is circa £32,000 per annum.

Are you looking for a hands-on, field-based career that plays a vital role in delivering electricity to homes and businesses? Our Distribution Apprenticeships offer exciting opportunities to train as a Fitter, Jointer or Linesperson, helping to maintain and develop the electricity network.
Fitter: Works on electrical infrastructure, including maintaining and installing vital components across the network.
Jointer: Specialises in underground electricity cables, repairing faults, upgrading supplies, and connecting new properties.
Linesperson: Works at height on the overhead electricity network, ensuring power lines are built, maintained, and restored during supply faults.

What to Expect:
Earn While You Learn: Over 4 years, you'll gain valuable on-the-job experience, industry-recognised qualifications, and academic training at college and our internal training school.
Work That Matters: You'll play a crucial role in maintaining electricity supplies, responding to emergencies, and supporting the Net Zero transition.
Travel & Accommodation Support: Our block release training means you may need to stay away from home for several weeks at a time. SSE will fully support your travel and accommodation needs.
