Job description

Vickerstock are working in partnership with a concrete manufacturingbusiness on the appointment of a Dispatch Manager on a full-time permanent basis. This is a great chance to join a growing business who are about to enter their busiest time of the year.

As the Dispatch Manager, you will schedule and coordinate a fleet of tipper and mixer lorries, ensuring efficient and timely deliveries to our customers. You will manage the day-to-day dispatch operations while ensuring all administrative tasks are handled accurately.

Duties will include:

  • Manage the daily operations of tipper and mixer lorries, ensuring efficient scheduling and route optimization.
  • Issue and maintain accurate delivery dockets, keeping all records current and precise.
  • Communicate effectively with drivers, customers, and internal teams to provide updates and promptly resolve logistical issues.
  • Address and troubleshoot challenges such as delays, vehicle breakdowns, and scheduling conflicts.
  • Ensure all transportation activities are conducted in compliance with industry regulations and safety standards.


What you will need to succeed:

  • Experience in logistics, transport management, or dispatch operations (preferably in construction, quarrying, or similar industries).
  • Strong time management and organisational skills to keep deliveries running efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills to coordinate with drivers, customers, and internal teams.
  • A keen problem-solver who can handle unexpected issues calmly and effectively.
  • Experience in paperwork management, including issuing and handling delivery dockets.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
