Disability Support Worker
Location: Bournemouth
Salary: GBP12.82 - GBP14.72 per hour (Depending on Experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

You will play a vital role in supporting individuals with diverse needs, promoting independence, and enhancing their quality of life as a Disability Support Worker. Responsibilities of a Disability Support Worker:

  • Provide tailored support to individuals with physical, learning, or sensory disabilities.
  • Assist with personal care, daily living tasks, and mobility support.
  • Foster a safe and inclusive environment that promotes dignity and independence.
  • Encourage participation in community activities and social engagement.
  • Support individuals in developing practical skills and accessing educational opportunities.
  • Monitor and report progress, maintaining accurate records of care and support provided.
  • Collaborate with families, carers, and other professionals to ensure holistic support.
  • Uphold high standards of care and respect the rights and wishes of each individual.

Disability Support Worker Requirements:

  • A degree in Psychology, Counselling, Education or a similar field.
  • A compassionate and empathetic approach to care.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with disabilities as a Disability Support Worker is desirable.
  • Relevant qualifications in health and social care (e.g., NVQ Level 2 or 3) are advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.

  • Possess an enhanced DBS registered to the update service or be willing to apply for one through GSL Education.
