The Supply Chain function is responsible for all materials, production planning, inventory control and customer service functions at Catalent, Swindon. The position is responsible for overseeing all activities and personnel within the Supply Chain function providing leadership for customer services, logistics, planning and Material Management.

Responsible for coordinating and implementing activities to attain strategic objectives within the department and looks to his or her direct supervisor or other peers within the industry for guidance. In addition, the Director Supply Chain is responsible for establishing goals and objectives, supervising work practices for direct reports, interpreting and executing policies and procedures that typically affect organizational units. At the senior level, this position requires extensive independent judgment, ability to interact with senior leadership, plan and execute site strategy aligned to corporate vision and objectives.

The Role:

1. Develop and execute Supply Chain strategy aligned with Business and Operations Strategy.
2. Work closely with Commercial operations to develop Commercial supply agreements, ensure the highest level of service levels and On Time Delivery to Customers.
3. Intervene and resolve current / upcoming servicing issues through strong cross functional S&OP process.
4. Manage the logistics and planning function to ensure optimal processing of customer orders.
5. Ensure project management disciplines are followed to deliver ‘quick to market’ launches for new products.
6. Manage the Material Management function to ensure coordinated and efficient supply of production.
7. Develop and implement strategic plans to improve productivity, quality, cost and efficiency throughout the Supply Chain.
8. Work closely with operations to develop production capacity plans and strategies for the medium and long term.
9. Reduce site commercial spending by utilizing the purchasing function to drive cost improvements on capex, raw materials and supply chain initiatives.
10. Other duties as assigned.

The Candidate:

The ideal candidate must be able to demonstrate a successful track record of managing in a complex highly regulated industry in a customer-focused manufacturing environment.

Experienced in providing strategic and operational leadership in a customer driven planning and logistics environment.

Has the ability and qualities to develop long-term customer relationships, at an international level across different cultures.

Of degree intellect but not necessarily established through academic qualifications.

The candidate would ideally have received professional training in planning, logistics, S&OP processes (e.g., presentation skills, negotiation skills etc).
