Job Description

Checkout.com is looking for a driven and self-motivated Director-level Head of Strategic Pricing to steer the Strategic Pricing and Network Fees teams, alongside strategic pricing infrastructure projects.

Reporting to the CFO, you'll have proven experience in pricing and/or strategy, ideally with good working knowledge of the Payments industry.

This is a position that requires a highly analytical strategic thought-leader and will have excellent interpersonal skills working with senior stakeholders, including product and sales, be self-motivated, adaptable to the changing demands of the role, and capable of independently driving the pricing strategy!

How you'll make an impact:

  • Craft the Pricing Strategy - Design and implement pricing frameworks that drive balanced growth across all products and regions, ensuring competitive yet profitable pricing structures.
  • Drive Pricing Decision-Making - Lead deal pricing analysis and Net Revenue forecasting to support new business opportunities and repricing of existing merchants.
  • Optimise Portfolio Performance - Continuously assess pricing effectiveness, identify trends, and propose data-driven adjustments to maintain consistency, profitability, and scalability.
  • Be the Link Between Pricing and Product - Partner closely with the Pricing and Billing product team, influencing their roadmap and ensuring pricing solutions align with business objectives.
  • Influence and Align Key Stakeholders - Build positive relationships with senior leaders in Commercial and Product, ensuring pricing strategies align with business goals while balancing market competitiveness and long-term profitability.
  • Drive Pricing Transformation Initiatives - Drive internal pricing and quote-to-cash transformation projects, improving efficiency and automation.
  • Enable Commercial Teams - Communicate complex pricing strategies in a clear and compelling way, ensuring stakeholders are equipped to make informed decisions.
  • Oversee Network Fees - Lead the team managing interchange and scheme fees, optimising one of the most critical cost levers in payments.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • 10+ years track record of pricing experience ideally in a B2B setup
  • Experience with card schemes and Payments (Acquiring/Issuing) is preferred
  • Experience working with a multitude of partners, including senior management, product and sales
  • Experience with setting up frameworks and building capabilities from scratch, including financial modelling
  • Highly analytical, strategic thinker with strong ideas and foresight
  • Attention to detail and keen on working in a fast paced environment
