Director of Venture - Blockchain Focused Venture Capital Fund - Remote

Position Overview

Now, we’re looking for a Head of Venture to lead our dynamic team and elevate our venture fund to new heights.

Requirements

Must-Have:

1. 5+ years of venture capital experience;
2. Fluent English (both verbal and written);
3. Strong analytical skills with experience in traditional finance (e.g., hedge funds, investment banking, venture capital, private equity) and/or venture capital;
4. Extensive experience in capital raising;
5. Team management or operational leadership experience;
6. A robust network that can be leveraged for deal flow and strategic opportunities, with a proven ability to identify high-potential investments;
7. Protocol experience (e.g., business development, engineering, ecosystem knowledge);
8. Sales skills with the ability to close deals, alongside a natural talent for networking;
9. Familiarity with portfolio management dynamics;
10. Excellent negotiation skills and ability to meet deadlines;
11. Proficiency in Excel, Google Sheets, and Mac systems.

Nice-to-Have:

1. M&A or trading experience (preferred but not essential);
2. A financial designation or license is advantageous but not mandatory.

Role & Responsibilities:

1. Lead a global team of venture associates, implementing the fund manager’s vision while adhering to the investment strategy and serving on the investment committee;
2. Support capital deployment, including sourcing, due diligence, and executing high-quality investment deals;
3. Manage a steady deal flow, monitoring investment exposure, liquid/illiquid assets, and KPIs, while continuously balancing the portfolio;
4. Play a pivotal role in DeFi and liquidity operations, in close collaboration with the quantitative trading team;
5. Perform market research, investment trend analysis, financial modeling, valuation assessments, due diligence, and offer project support for portfolio companies;
6. Prepare and manage reports and updates (e.g., investment notes, quarterly reports, monthly digests);
7. Collaborate with the fund manager to enhance team cohesion, ensure capital efficiency, and drive company growth;
8. Promote the fund by conducting interviews, fostering relationships with other funds, attending and speaking at conferences, and engaging in public forums;
9. Present the fund to potential LPs and support the closing process;
10. Work closely with the finance department to ensure compliance with internal procedures;
11. Maintain secure records using company systems and repositories.
