To be successful as our new Director of the PAL, you will:
- Have a Degree in Kinesiology with a focus on psychomotor behaviour and exercise rehabilitation
- Be a member in good standing with the College of Kinesiologists of Ontario
- Provide leadership and direction for the development and evaluation of comprehensive operational policies and programs for the Village PAL program
- Coordinate with external stakeholders including the LHIN regarding OT/PT services, vendor relations for application resident equipment, and external service providers for additional therapy/exercise programs
- Provide leadership, support, and evaluate PAL programs and projects including restorative, restraints, falls, care conferences, and research to practice initiatives
- Participate in Village interdisciplinary team meetings or committees as appropriate, while communicating and working in collaboration with other interdisciplinary team members
- Provide leadership to the PAL Coordinator and support PAL Students, Volunteers, and contracted therapy services who assist with the PAL program
- Display a caring and respectful attitude toward our residents, families, and team members
- Understand the physical, mental, and emotional demands of the role
It would be an asset if our new PAL Coordinator has:
- Experience working in a Long-Term Care setting
- Current Heart Save Level of CPR
As a new Director of the PAL Program, you will:

You will work as a key member of our Village Leadership Team and neighbourhood multidisciplinary teams to understand residents’ needs, and advocate for residents to actively participate in decisions about their physical care.
