About us
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) is Scotland’s largest health board, serving a diverse population of 1.3 million across six local authority areas. With an annual budget of £4.5 billion and a workforce of over 40,000, we deliver a comprehensive range of health services spanning primary, secondary, community, and specialist care. As we strive to enhance population health and deliver person-centred care, our dedicated staff are at the heart of everything we do.
The role
We are seeking an exceptional leader for the position of Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development (HR&OD). This is a pivotal role, responsible for shaping and implementing NHSGGC’s workforce strategy, ensuring that our people are supported to deliver outstanding care to the communities we serve.
As Director, you will oversee the HR&OD function, including recruitment, workforce planning, staff development, employee relations, and organisational change. A champion for equality, diversity, and inclusion (EDI), you will embed these principles across the organisation, fostering an inclusive, supportive, and high-performing workplace culture.
You will lead transformational workforce initiatives, enabling NHSGGC to adapt to the evolving demands of healthcare delivery. By collaborating with senior leaders, trade union representatives, and national bodies, you will align our workforce strategies with NHSGGC’s corporate objectives and Scotland’s national healthcare priorities.
