At Gigs, we're building the operating system for mobile services - a platform that enables tech companies to seamlessly embed connectivity into their products.

Just as Stripe enables businesses to embed a payment button into any product, Gigs enables businesses to add a connect button and issue SIMs with a single click or API call. From fintechs launching mobile services to HRIS platforms offering work phone plans, we automate phone plan provisioning.

We're solving complex technical, operational and regulatory challenges to make connectivity truly effortless. We've grown to a team of around 90 people across the US and Europe, bringing together an experienced team of early-stage engineers, product builders and business athletes from companies like Stripe, Airbnb and Shopify. The Role

Reporting to our Co-Founder and CEO, you will join our Builders organization to lead and scale engineering at Gigs together with our Chief Architect.

What You Will Do

• Set a clear, compelling vision for the engineering team, connecting day-to-day work to Gigs' mission, strategy, and operating principles.
• Foster a growth-oriented culture where feedback, learning, and high performance thrive.
• Attract, hire, and retain exceptional engineering talent.
• Implement performance management practices that promote accountability, development, and excellence.
• Drive the engineering roadmap, ensuring technical initiatives align with Gigs' strategic goals and move forward at a high velocity.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with our Product, Design, Operations, and the Executive Team to deliver innovative, high-impact solutions.
• Co-champion best practices in software development, architecture, and infrastructure, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.
• Lead through change and ambiguity, providing clarity and stability in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
• Identify emerging technologies and industry trends to keep Gigs ahead of the curve.
• Serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Team, offering strategic insights that shape Gigs' broader business direction.
• Ensure transparency into engineering operations, fostering trust and alignment across the organization.

What We Are Looking For

• Proven Leadership: 15+ years of engineering experience, including 5+ years in senior leadership roles managing global, high-performing teams.
• Builder experience: a proven track record of taking an early stage engineering environment through multiple successful growth iterations.
• Track Record of Impact: Demonstrated success in leading large-scale software projects, delivering complex systems, and driving measurable business outcomes.
• People First: Exceptional leadership and people management skills. Passionate about mentoring, coaching, and inspiring teams.
• Strategic Thinking: Ability to balance long-term vision with short-term execution. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Operational Excellence: Experience with Agile methodologies, product lifecycle management, and optimizing engineering workflows.
• Communication: Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. Adept at influencing across all levels of the organization.
• Technical Depth: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Strong technical acumen with a background in software architecture, APIs, and scalable systems.
