Job description

The opportunities to make your mark in Middlesbrough are endless. We’re building a Council that supports people to live independent lives in safe and resilient communities.

As part of our mission to deliver for families, we’re looking for a motivational leader with a strong track record of getting things done. You’ll lead the transformation of Adult Social Care and Integrated Health in Middlesbrough, working closely with partners across the health and care system. Your leadership will improve outcomes for our residents and their families. Our Chief Executive is a former Social Worker and Director of Adult Social Services. Our Elected Mayor is a passionate believer in the power of social care.

You’ll be joining an organisation with a strong focus on improving people’s lives. The recent outcome of our first Care Quality Commission inspection saw us 1% away from an overall ‘Good’ rating. The CQC realised we’re already making progress where it’s required, and you would lead the delivery of a full improvement plan.

This is a unique opportunity to drive innovation, lead a fantastic team, and shape the future of care in an ambitious Council.

  1. Please view our Council Plan for 2024-2027.
  2. Our latest CQC Inspection Report can be viewed.
  3. For an informal discussion, please contact Erik Scollay, Chief Executive.

To be considered for an interview, please make sure your application is fully in line with the job specs as found below.
