Position Description

Job Title: Director of Admissions

FSLA: Exempt

Job Status: Full-time

Reporting Functions: Reports to the School Principal

Job Function: This position has the responsibility for student enrollment and retention, marketing the school to the external community and managing the admission process protocol so as to provide families opportunity to select Allentown Central Catholic High School (ACCHS) as the school of their choice. The Director tracks all relevant data and uses this information to enhance and grow enrollment.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  1. Assume overall responsibility for student enrollment and the creation, implementation and evaluation of a comprehensive enrollment management plan.
  2. Plans, organizes, implements, hosts and evaluates various admission events including Open Houses, Information nights, accepted student events, new student and parent orientations, school visitations days and other partner school activities throughout the year.
  3. Meeting annually with the partner school principals to review program purpose and content.
  4. Corresponds with interested families of prospective students.
  5. Manages the enrollment database, collecting contact information, applications, academic, attendance and discipline materials for all prospective students including transfers.
  6. Maintains appropriate statistics on all enrollment activities for periodic reporting to the Principal and Diocesan Office.
  7. Coordinate CYO nights and/or weekend contacts and visits.
  8. Prepares and maintains an Admissions Office budget.
  9. Develop programs outside the partner schools to recruit prospective parents and students.
  10. Represent Central at all school fairs.
  11. Moderate the Viking Ambassador, a student corps, who provide tours, hosting and other services related to activities within the school for bonding, parents and alumni events.
  12. Coordinate the development of admissions marketing communication efforts including printed materials (brochure, newsletter, etc.), on-line presence (school website and social media), advertising and public relations. Keep the school website Admissions and International pages current.
  13. Supervise the school registrar.
  14. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

Educational Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in public relations, journalism, communications or related field.
  2. At least five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in Admissions, with additional experience in education, sales, client management, marketing, or related fields.

  1. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with and present to a wide range of audiences, including administrators, faculty, staff, vendors, prospective and current students, and families.
  2. Professional possesses an ethical approach, integrity, and maturity, and can handle sensitive and confidential material discreetly.
  3. Passionate commitment to Catholic education and to advancing the mission of Allentown Central Catholic High School with the ability to communicate ACCHS's story verbally and in writing.
  4. Ability to think strategically and to develop effective plans with clear objectives, tactics, and timelines.
  5. Prior supervisory experience of either professional staff or student volunteers.
  6. Ability to successfully lead teams, work as a "team player," and possess energy and passion in a team environment.
  7. A proven self-starter, organized, and detail-oriented within a fast-paced work environment.
  8. Competent in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite, and Student Information/Enrollment software.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, and the ability to adjust focus. The employee is continuously interacting with the public, staff and students. The employee frequently must meet multiple demands from several people. The employee must maintain emotional control under stress.

Working Conditions: Normal high school environment, Monday thru Friday with office hours 8 AM-4 PM. This is a full-time salaried position; may be required to work outside normal workday or weekly schedule (including nights and weekends) to attend meetings and events.
