Gordon Brothers is a global organisation with an opportunity for an experienced HR Business Partner to join our team. The position reports directly to our Global Chief Human Resources Officer in the U.S. and provides direct support to the EMEA jurisdiction and contributes to a dynamic Human Capital team that is driving transformation throughout the organisation. This position is co-located with the business in our London office and requires 3 days in-office.

Job Purpose

You work in partnership with the Head of EMEA and other business leaders to provide professional, client-driven HR counsel that supports business objectives, transformation, and growth. The position supplies both strategic and tactical input to relevant business issues and active coaching to managers, serving as the primary point of contact for all HR programs, projects, and initiatives.

Key Activities

  1. Serve as the primary point of contact for all HR needs (e.g., total rewards, talent acquisition, workforce planning, employee relations) – both strategic and tactical to ensure that solutions are business focused and support the jurisdiction’s people strategy. Interface with HR team to use expertise, knowledge, and ensure consistent practices and programs.
  2. Develop a solid understanding of the business and work closely with managers to implement innovative solutions that drive performance and enhance/maintain an elevated level of employee engagement.
  3. Provide active coaching to managers about people management/leadership development. Partner with managers to proactively address and resolve employee relations issues. Provide coaching to managers on conduct and performance issues and guide them through the coaching and performance improvement process.
  4. Consult and support managers in all aspect of talent management (e.g., identification and development, analysis of talent gaps). Work closely with managers to evaluate current staff, identify high potential employees, create succession plans, and generate workforce plans that enable the strategy of the business.
  5. Partner with managers to identify individual and organisation learning needs and aggregate learning needs on a jurisdictional and global level.

Job Requirements

  1. The ideal candidate has an undergraduate degree in a related discipline, and ten or more years of relevant, progressively responsible HR experience in financial services, management consulting or professional services, ideally including program management. Master’s degree and relevant HR certificates preferred (e.g., CIPD).
  2. Experience demonstrates competency in the following areas:

  5. Collaborate with others, understand organisation processes with the desire for continuous improvement.
  6. Communicate effectively using strong listening skills and the ability and desire to influence outcomes. Strong ability to parse out facts, get to the root of issues and, without drama or hyperbole.
  7. Listen intently to understand other points of views and put the business needs first.
  8. Build constructive relationships with people at all levels in the organisation, manage conflict diplomatically.
  9. Establish a reputation for ethics, innovation, and personal excellence among business leaders.
  10. Consider facts and circumstances, look toward the broadest possible view of an issue or challenge, think, and talk in global terms, take in information from various sources and determine a best course of action, demonstrate excellent judgment.
