JOB TITLE: Director, Higher Education
LOCATION: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Newcastle or Manchester
HOURS: Full time
WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of your time, in the office.

About this opportunity

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our Higher Education Banking team as a director covering Scotland, the North East and North West of England. In this dedicated higher education role, you'll build and maintain banking relationships with large and mid-sized universities across the sector, bringing the best of LBG to our clients from a financing, convening and thought leadership perspective.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead a portfolio of large and mid-sized university relationships within the Higher Education Sector.
  • Maintain and build client relationships to drive business with new and existing clients.
  • Identify client needs and develop strategies to meet those needs.
  • Develop innovative solutions by integrating and analysing complex and diverse information sources.
  • Review, evaluate and handle risk, to ensure adherence to the LBG risk framework and wider industry regulations.

What we need from you?

  • Previous commercial banking experience with a proven track record managing relationships.
  • Experience of structuring large debt facilities and capital markets experience.
  • Specialist credit and sector knowledge with a passion for delivering excellent client experiences whilst identifying ways to grow income, balance sheet and market share.
  • Excellent communication and customer management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across different teams and hierarchies.
  • Strong risk management and analytical skills are crucial.

And any experience of these would be really useful

  • Knowledge of the Higher Education sector would be highly beneficial.

This role is considered Certified under the Senior Manager and Certification Regime as either requiring mandatory qualifications or being deemed as a role capable of providing ‘significant harm’ to customers. Due to this, successful candidates will be subject to enhanced levels of vetting, and required to complete a fitness and propriety attestation on commencement in role. Colleagues performing this role will be required to be complete a fitness and propriety attestation on an annual basis and will also be subject to additional routine criminal and credit checks.
