The National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) produces trusted, independent, and evidence-based guidelines and appraisals of medicines, diagnostics, devices and digital technologies (including AI). Position Overview
The Director for HealthTech Evaluation is integral to NICE’s mission, and to the senior leadership team. The successful candidate will lead NICE’s healthtech evaluation team (working across devices, diagnostics and digital technologies, including AI) and external consultancy team, NICE Advice. They will collaborate closely with key stakeholders including clinicians, commissioners, voluntary sector organisations, national partners and industry leaders to ensure NICE’s healthtech evaluation programme continually evolves and enhances the value of medical devices, diagnostics, and digital health technologies for the benefit of patients and the health and care system. They will lead an energetic, user-focused programme to provide high quality, evidence-based advice, to assess value for money, to arrange ongoing data collection for healthtech products and services with the most potential, and to provide information on the safety and efficacy of new interventional procedures.
